Editing video from women’s comedy night to upload to YouTube

Changes will be afoot soon in the Community Media Lab and today was likely the last of my regular Wednesday shifts. Don’t worry though, the Community Media Lab isn’t going anywhere – it will continue to be available as a resource open to the community and will hopefully only continue to grow and strengthen. And even though my usual shift here is no longer, I am certain I will continue to have a role here.

Today, Shelly Smith from Ann Arbor came and visited the lab looking for help to create a video she could upload to YouTube. She had footage from women’s night at Mark Ridley’s Comedy Castle’s first Detroit international comedy festival, which she performed in along with other female comedians and she was interested in cutting her segment from this to create a separate video of her part. Using iMovie on the lab’s Mac, I was able to do this for her. When she’s had the opportunity to upload to YouTube, I’ll try to link from here to her comedy segment.
