Today a workshop on introducing a photo editing program called GIMP, which is similar to Photoshop, was held in the Community Media Lab. I attended the workshop conducted by freelance editor Sarah Rigg. A live stream of the workshop is available and can be viewed online. I regularly use the GIMP program, which has the benefit of being freely distributed. Among the websites it can be downloaded from, Sarah recommended getting it from download.cnet.com.
Following the workshop I also worked with Martha Churchill, who often contributes to the Milan News-Leader, to introduce her to the GIMP program and also help her with her camera.
