Meetings on Ann Arbor fire station restructuring plan and tragic drowning in Sumpter Township among the day’s writing

Once again I spent my time in the Community Media Lab writing.

The story I finished just minutes ago was about a series of meetings scheduled for public comment on Ann Arbor Fire Department’s restructuring plan, which would reduce the number of manned fire stations from five to three. The fire chief says this will actually improve response times due to specifics regarding staffing. I also learned of another tragedy in the Belleville area: an 11-month-old baby drowned Monday in Sumpter Township.

I also posted stories about Ypsilanti police arresting a home invasion suspect, the county sheriff’s office informing Dexter resident of a recently attempted home invasion, and Saline police arresting a teenager for drinking and driving.
