Pinterest

We finally have a Pinterest account, sort of. Since Pinterest started developing a following, we’ve been wanting to create a page for Heritage Media. We finally have one set up, but are still working on adding pins and content before promoting it to our readers. I’m also trying to learn how to use it effectively.

Steve Buttry sent me a plethora of links on how to incorporate Pinterest into the paper’s social media experience. His blog post on the topic is wonderful.

It seems like newspapers are often using Pinterest boards for specialty projects where they request photos on a certain subject from readers. The photos will then be uploaded to Pinterest and displayed on the designated board.

I’m excited to continue exploring how other papers are using the site and eventually have readers help me create new collections.

Take a sneak peek of what we have so far.

What types of boards would you like to see us feature?
